[WT-support] CW keying

Bob - NOSOUND fixed the problem. Must be a timing issue with the computer speaker and calls to DTR and RTS.

As one of the first CT users (XT and DOS), and then Win-CT, Win-Test is attractive because of the familiar interface. Appreciate your speedy response to my email. So now I can finish trying some of the features before signing up -- Thanks!

Are you listening to CW keying in the FT2000 monitor or the PC speaker?

Type NOSOUND [Enter] in the Logging window. Sidetone monitoring via PC speaker (which often doesn't work at all on newer PCs) can affect CW timing on the keying circuit.

If that doesn't help, try WEIGHT [Enter] in the logging window, and adjust the value up or down to see if that makes it sound better.

Finally since you are using Serial port keying via COM1, make sure CW keying via any other port such as COM2 or LPT or WinKey is disabled.

Attempting to get CW to work on Win-Test trial version -- Computer: Dell Studio, Windows Vista, PCI 2 port Serial card. Radio: Yaesu FT2000 on Com 2. Hardware keying interface on Com 1 using Cw=DTR, PTT=RTS. Hardware interface works OK since Tune function in Win-Test keys the transmitter, both PTT and CW. Radio control by Win-Test on Com2 is also OK. However trouble sending CW with any of the function keys, or the CW keyboard send window. The PTT function closes for the message length, but the CW keying is very fast and choppy. Any ideas?
