Saty,
Which SO2R box or WinKey device are you using? microHAM micro2R? MK2R?
K1EL? Something else? How are you changing TX focus?
Are you using a USB-to-Serial adapter?
Usually the Star [*] key works fine, immediately changing paddle focus
between radios. But using the CapsLock key (with CapsLock Binds to
Secondary Radio), the paddle focus doesn't move until a message is sent by
the software. So I am confused because you seem to be saying the Star key
works like the CapsLock key, which I have never seen, unless the Star key
is reprogrammed via DEFINEKEYS or Scripts Manager commands.
That is done because CapsLock moves data entry focus immediately, but not
transmit focus. It's a little confusing, but you get used to it, and
perhaps it makes more sense to keep the paddles on the "RUN" (Primary)
radio almost all the time.
Personally, I don't think many people need to use a WinKey with Win-Test,
as it can send perfectly good CW via COM or LPT pin all by itself, and you
can put a paddle into each radio's built-in keyer for manual sending. But
a lockout circuit is *required*, to prevent sending on two radios at the
same time (one with the computer, and one or both with the paddles).
