[WT-support] u2R and SO2R

I have had the same problems - I do not have a good answer, but some things
have worked for me.

I also get a 1 - 2 second delay sending CW ----- sometimes. And sometimes
it degrades to
the point that you press an F-key and it will send either the first letter
or part of
the first letter in the CW message. Sometimes with a delay and sometimes
not.
I can see delays from Control to Winkeyer2 when it is happening.
And I've watched Mon for both and also see it there.
Once it starts it seems there is nothing you can do to fix it short of one
of the following:

   - Exit WT and Router and Restart - sometimes it fixes it, sometimes
   not.
   - Exit WT and Router and Shutdown - sometimes it fixes it, sometimes
   not.
   - Exit WT, Router. Turn off the router and Restart - sometimes it
   fixes it, sometimes not.
   - Exit WT, Router. Turn off the router and Shutdown (this has fixed
   it most times)
   -

There have been times that none of these work, so I go to that 'other'
logging program and import the WT's ADIF and proceed with whatever contest
it is and everything works fine.

In the June VHF contest I noticed the delay on SSB playing the voice
messages .... but it was SSB, so I didn't much care, but there was no delay
if I would go to the Router DVK tab and click on the voice message that was
recorded there. Just a delay on recordings made by WT.

Is it a WT problem? Is it a Router H/W or S/W problem? I don't know, but
the problem goes away if you make Control = none. Every time .... but you
lose SO2R control from WT.

One suggestion I had was to use LPT control - I have a parallel port on the
shack PC but it's a bulky cable compared to the USB cable but I have not
tried it yet.

TSR's and other utilities do not make a difference - I have an external
Creative Sound Blaster and Microsoft Security Essentials running and not
much else ...... but the problem did occur before the external sound and MS
Security were running on the shack PC.

PC - Dell GTX 2GHz,1MB RAM
Router 7.6.1
WinTest 4.5.1 13 Jul 2010 0405

Both WT, MM & WL are set up to agree with the settings in the Router (I
learned this the hard way, with help from Bob N6TV!)
Radio 1 - K3 COM1 Real COM port 38400 8 N 1
Radio 2 - K2 COM4 FTDI USB cable 4800 8 N 2

Winkeyer2 - COM5 1200 8 N 2
Control - COM8 115200 8 N 1 PTT Pin 7 (RTS)

When it works with WT it is the greatest thing since sliced bread and soft
butter ..... but on more than one occasion it caused me to go back to my
archaic homebrew audio switch box and the WinkeyerUSB!
