Patrick,
If you have only "1" Network adapter, your suggestion will not work, or you
will overload your GPRS link, re-sending all incoming traffic (from your
cluster) again to your GPRS Provider (broadcast address), so it's not a good
practice.
It's better that WtDxTelnet re-send the traffic over your loopback broadcast
address (127.255.255.255) so you assure the traffic is not again on the GPRS
Link, and WT can take it from the loopback broadcast address, without
aditional traffic.
This is a solution ONLY when you have only ONE computer and without a second
LAN adapter.
In your case 1.- this is clear, you have 2 adapters and your proposal is OK,
the 2.- option is a trick, but not a good method.... if you have only ONE
adapter, the loopback broadcast address is the best method... just my 2
cents on this topic.

Hi, i had the same problem with GPRS conection and this is what i have done:
1. Used GPRS + my HP notebook + simple network switch or hub (all setting
wtdxtelnet + wt by default in both programs just "press" default)
2. same but without network hub/switch but enabled WIFI lan on my notebook
in ADHOC mode.
If u do this all works fine, WT comunicates with wtdxtelnet ...
4 the WT team:
I have noticed that if I have internet spots enabled and when i run CW (comm
port),
and when i call CQ or sending CW out and at the same time i receive packet
spot CW became unreadible.
This mean i lost few dots or dashes ....
I am using HP notebook running at 400MHz(cpu) with WINXP Home + 512MB ram +
AMD CPU 2800+ sempron mobile.
It's better to "play" CW from LPT port?

Gordon,
You must configure both Win-Test and WtDxTelnet as follows:
Broadcast IP Address: 127.255.255.255
In other way, the traffic received by WtDxTelnet from your cluster, will be
again re-send via the GPRS network, and will cause a traffic overload on
your GPRS Link. Maybe O2 filter this UDP traffic and causes it to not be
received on WT....
127.255.255.255 is a loopback address for internal comunications at the same
computer, and I have just tested, to assure it works.
Well, test it and let us know.... but it shoudl work!

I have been testing successfully connection via GPRS for when operating
portable. It connects fine and the wtDxTelnet client also connects and
downloads fine. However, I cannot get it to talk to Wintest any more. I
have looked at the Wiki and it doesn't cover this circumstance.
I am using an XP laptop and connecting via GPRS to O2 network. I get
address via IP and accordin to IPCONFIG, my assigned address is
10.226.238.93 on a subnet of 255.255.255.255. I go to both Win-Test and
the telnet client Network properties and click default button. It then
changes the broadcast address to 10.226.238.255. However, no data streams
into the cluster in the client, although the Telnet client is working
fine.
If I try to ping 10.226.238.255, I get no reply.
Wonder if you can help please?
Thanks
Gordon
