In fact, I think we have to modify a bit the user interface abt this.

By default, all partial searches are performed with 3 characters at 
least. But, you can choose to perform these searches with two chars only 
in the log and the database, *OR* the log only (assuming you checked the 
"search in log only" menu). For now, it is not possible to perform 
searches in the log with 2 chars *and* in the database with 3 chars.
