Unfortunately, there is no hidden function for that

No.

In fact, the sked window code is very old (one of the first window code 
I wrote). And to be honest, it should be rewritten from scratch to 
comply with the standard behaviour of the other windows. Unfortunately I 
never had time enough to do it properly and avoid any side effect.
