Are you sure that is the only issue?

Win-Test only uses vhf.dtb to prefill grid square exchanges when Tools |
Data Entry | Exchange guessing is enabled; it does *not* use VHF.DTB for
Check Partial purposes *unless* you copy vhf.dtb to default.dtb (or better
yet, copy MASTER.SCP to DEFAULT.SCP) to override the normal database search
order.

For a VHF contest like IARU VHF or June VHF, Win-Test 4.21 seems to select
HF.DTB for check-partial purposes instead of MASTER.SCP or similar, but it
still uses VHF.DTB for pre-filling the grid locator.

Enter a call like DC1LEX and you can see the exchange pre-filled, but
nothing in the Check Partial window. This is when using the VHF.DTB file
you can download from

http://download.win-test.com/databases/VHF.ZIP

(with HF.DTB for check partial).

Any ideas why this happens? Should every call in this dtb show up or are

Which "information window"? The pop-up window you see briefly when you
open a log?

Which contest did you select? I only see HF.DTB displayed when I right
click on the Check Partial window and select "Used files list."

Right, for VHF contests, Win-Test seems to now default to using HF.DTB now
instead of using the search order documented here
<http://docs.win-test.com/wiki/Check_Partial_and_Np1_Files#Search_order>.
It could be a side effect of this bug fix in WT 4.21:

- Bugfix : Stew Perry contest was using VHF.DTB instead of DEFAULT.SCP.
  Tnx N6TV. (Task #184).
