Hi Andreas,
this is exactly the same situation as described here
http://lists.f5mzn.org/pipermail/support/2009-December/079147.html and in
the FAQ (as you mentioned already).
Did you really check the registry value and value as described?
If so, was it set to 1?
If so, did you set it to 0 properly?
If so, did you reboot your machine?
If so, please re-check the registry key.
If so, was is set to 1 again?
If so, some other programm was changing the value automatically.
Although this hasn't been confrimed yet, some 3rd party firewall or
ant-virus software may have changed the value to prevent port hijacking.
Try to find out which prorgam caused the problem by systematically deinstall
such software and check again.
If you cannot find the registry key then try to generate a key and set the
value to 0 as described.
@Pete: sorry, but I've never heard, that Microsoft changed its behavoir in
that case from SPx to SPy.
Unfortunately I do not have a test system ready to confrim this.
Hope that helps!

Pete,
probably not. I have to check. Concerning your questions I assume it is
important to have SP3 (?).

Andreas, did you bring all of those computers up to SP3?

Hello,
Recently I got some "new" used computers, which have been fresh installed
with Microsoft XP. If I start WT and WtDxTelnet on the same machine I get
the error message "Error opening UDP socket #10013". The error message
appears by starting the second program (WT or WtDxTelnet, depending was has
been started before).
I checked against two computers with Win7, were this behavior is not the
case.
I never have seen this behavior on the old machines with Win2000 before
either.
I did a search:
<http://lists.f5mzn.org/pipermail/support/2008-July/075954.html>
http://lists.f5mzn.org/pipermail/support/2008-July/075954.html
http://lists.f5mzn.org/pipermail/support/2009-November/078872.html
http://docs.win-test.com/wiki/FAQ:Networking
However the computers have been fresh installed and there is not much other
software than WT on the (XP) computers, because they are purely dedicated to
contesting.
The problem seems to be Microsoft XP related. Any chance to get this
working? Any help is appreciated.
