[WT-support] Loosing data

Mark,

I assume you are using a USB-to-Serial adapter, not a regular 9-PIN serial
port.  This is a common symptom of using a device with a Prolific chipset,
instead of one based on FTDI.  There is no fix.  You have to use a
different type of USB-to-Serial adapter.

You can verify this as follows.

On Windows,

   1. Start, Run, DEVMGMT.MSC
   2. Expand "Ports"
   3. Right click on your Radio's COM port, select *Properties*
   4. Click on *Drivers* tab
   5. Click on *Driver Details* button

If you see anything that says "Prolific", throw out that USB-to-Serial
adapter, because it will cause you no end of headaches.
