That explanation is not quite correct. With Win-Test's implementation of 
Winkey, each character is sent individually to Winkey. The next 
character is not sent until the "character echo" is sent from Winkey 
back to Win-Test. Therefore, Win-Test does have knowledge of when the CW 
is starting and stopping. There is no technical reason, other than 
Win-Test coding, why other forms of PTT could not be active while Winkey 
is being used. Other popular brands of contest logging software support 
this capability.
