I've described your recording problem earlier.

It seems that this is not fixed in Windows 8. 
The only chance is to code a workaround in Win-Test.
Other way in further Win-test development is to leave the old direct sound
driver model and move over to a more up-to-date solution.
But this is not done in a day, I guess.
