[WT-support] Scripts

Dennis:
I've been working on this since yesterday. My approach was
different but here is where I am.
Using V 4.2.0 ===
I do not understand the script mechanism and how you tie it
into the program, maybe a tutorial wrt to WT is needed.
I went this route: Since you can't redefine keys to perform
two keystrokes I remapped the Tilde "~" to be Alt-C. This
opens up the additional message bank. I modified message 8
(kinda like W Log) to be the TU--NOW message : $CORRECT TU $CR
NOW $GRABPARTNER $NEXT $GUESSEXCH $F2 $13
This takes two keystrokes tilde then F8 better than nothing.
The trick I haven't found out how to do is the direct insert
of the highlighted call into the Partner Window stack. In
notes on release 3.26 it says if one uses the middle mouse
button it is inserted into the Partner Window Stack. No Joy
here on this no matter what I reprogram the middle mouse
button to do it doesn't work.
The only way I can get this to operate is to left click as
normal to load into Log QSO window then hit ALT-Enter to load
into Partner Stack. Kinda cumbersome but the other half works
ok. Would like to figure out single keystroke message and
single click loading. I e-mailed N6TV but he did not have any
answers here is his respons:
Hi Hank,
Well I'm not much of a RTTY op. so I don't have the
right experience in this area.

Maybe you know the trick to this. I am trying to set
up V
4.2.0 to allow for the TU NOW key response like with
Wlog.
What I have done is set up an alternate RTTY message
with
control-c and message 8 with "$CORRECT TU $CR NOW
$GRABPARTNER
$NEXT $GUESSEXCH $F2 $13"
I have remapped the "tilde" to be "cntrl c". So now
when I hit
tilde and F8 the message works.
Can I program one key like the tilde to play the
message with
out the extra baloney? Just a question to make it
1-step.
Unfortunately, you can't use DEFINEKEYS to remap a key
to do the job of two keys. You can't define a key to be the
equivalent of [Alt-C] then [F8]. I have been asking for this
feature for a long time. The best you could do would be
to program that F6 or F7 to be $MSG8. Then F6 or F67 will
send whatever you have programmed into Alt-C/F8.
With the LUA scripting feature, there may be a way to
playback a message using other keys, but I have not figured
out how to do this.
The issue here for me is how do I get the calls from
the rtty
window to the partner window stack? I've tried the
middle
mouse clicking but no joy. Is there a switch somewhere
else to
enable this to happen. The 3.26.0 change log says all
you have
to do is click on the call with the middle mouse
button and it
will populate the partner window stack? Not happening
here.
Can't help you there either Hank, sorry. There aren't
enough RTTY signals on the band for me to try it myself. I
think you'll have to ask for help from the RTTY experts who
monitor the reflector.

So maybe I'll eliminate F5 (his call) and make it $MSG8 so
that would give me one key for the Now MSG. The single click
loading is still an issue .
Keep me in the loop as to your efforts as I would like to get
this working less clunky than I have now.
Look for me in the CQWW RTTY

Subject: [WT-support] Scripts
Can someone give me an example of a script for RTTY that will
grab a
highlighted callsign and put it directly into the Partner
Window? Or an
example of how one would use the
wtKeyer:GrabHighlightedCallsign()
scripting?
I'm unsure how the scripting can be associated into the
program. I've
looked through the recent archives, but I'm either blind or
its too new
to have provoked questions.
Thanks.
