You cannot read a V4 file .WT4 file with V3.

Instead, save the V4 file to Cabrillo format (.LOG) via the WRITELOG text
command, then Import the Cabrillo file into V3 via File, Import Cabrillo.

CW messages and window layouts will not be preserved, as they are not saved
in the Cabrillo file, but all the QSO data should be there.
