Upgrade are done immediatly. So the key you got was certainly for v4. 
You should have received an email quickly after the paiement was 
completed, with detailled information in order to download, install and 
activate it. If any, please check your spambox.

Anyway, there is no limitation regarding the number of QSO you can log 
with the demo version. You will just be prompted after a while that it 
is a demo version and you have to restart it.
