[WT-support] Help - Lost my Win-Test

As just posted recently<http://www.f5mzn.org/pipermail/support/2009-October/078569.html>,
Norton AntiVirus 10 is now (incorrectly I assume) flagging WT.EXE as a
Trojan Horse or Virus, and that is the root cause of all the issues.

First re-install Win-Test 4.1 (do NOT install 4.0.1 has it has a very bad
bug that can cause you to lose your log files). This is the file you want:

http://download.win-test.com/v4/bin/wt-4.1.0.exe

During update, Norton may insist that WT.EXE is a virus. Select "Ignore".
The installer may still have trouble because the old WT.EXE is locked. In
that case you will have to install to a different directory like C:\Program
Files\WT4 instead of C:\Program Files\Win-Test. Norton may find and flag
WT.EXE as a virus later anyway.

Then download

http://download.win-test.com/v4/nightly/wt_dev.zip

and unzip it to your Win-Test installation directory (C:\Program
Files\WT4\). This will create wt_dev.exe, which Norton does *not* flag as a
virus.

Then change your Win-Test icon or create another one so that it runs
WT_DEV.EXE instead of WT.EXE. Just right click on the Win-Test Icon and
select Properties and change the "Target" to *"C:\Program
Files\WT4\wt_dev.exe"* (*with* the quotes).

If you removed all traces of Win-Test from your computer, you will need to
re-enter your registration code via Help | Register Software to get out of
demo mode.

wt_dev.exe is version 4.2 "development beta" - so it may have new bugs. If
you prefer to run 4.1, you'll have to disable Norton AntiVirus on your
computer.
