[WT-support] Help - Lost my Win-Test

I'm using Vista-Ultimate, and I turned off Norton's firewall through this
exercise.

After enjoying the trial version of Win-Test, I purchased the registered
version a month ago, and used it often without any difficulties. But then
yesterday, I tried to run it and the application had disappeared. The Vista
Start Menu icon for Win-Test had reverted to a generic icon although
WtDxTelnet and WtRotator were still OK. (Maybe this was caused by last
week's running of several anti- malware programs to get rid of the Google
Redirector virus?)

Next I tried to download version 4.0.1 from the web site, (I had to enter my
registration code at some point) and Win-Test opened perfectly with all of
the settings I had used previously. However, when I exited it, I couldn't
later open it because again the application had disappeared.

In desperation, I deleted each and every reference to Win-Test on my
computer, including anything "win-test" in the registry. That allowed me to
download and run the demo version, but then when I tried to again download
the registered version 4.0.1, the Wizard seemed to work, but apparently
didn't because only the demo version was still on my computer. Oddly, this
last time I downloaded it, I didn't have to enter my registration code
anywhere, which might be part of the problem.

When 4.0.1 was installing itself, I did get several error messages, the
first being that an error had occurred when trying to rename a file in the
destination directory: [MoveFile failed; Code2], which I had to click
"ignore" to continue, and later a Vista dialog questioning about whether or
not the program was installed correctly due to a possible compatibility
issue.

Any advice will be appreciated - before I pull out what little hair I have
left!

Thanks, Joe, NA9A
