Andy,
To make a spot, type the call, or log the station, then press [Alt-F3]. You
will then see a pop-up window where you can add remarks like "CQing no
takers", then press [Enter] to send the spot to the cluster.
Unlike some programs, Win-Test does not have a way to automatically create a
packet spot for every station that you log. Personally I don't think adding
such a feature would be a good idea.
Win-Test does automatically put everything that you log into the bandmap, so
next time you tune to that frequency, you will know who was worked there.
It also puts cluster spots into the band map, and uses color coding to show
which stations are mults. Dupes can also be highlighted or hidden from the
band map.
You can manually add a station to the bandmap (without logging it), by
typing the call and pressing [Ctrl-Enter]. This is useful when you want to
return to a station that has a big pileup that you cannot break (perhaps
because too many others have posted packet spots for the rare DX, and the
pileup has become way too big).
