It works!
Thank you Frank for solving this mystery. Well done!!!! I have been trying to
solve this for quite a while.
I changed the Register value, rebooted the machine and voilá! And it even
works while the notebook is connected through the huawei modem!
Please, publish the solution in the wiki.
