Steve, see my response below. After the problems, the thing settled down
without me doing anything I can recall. Bruce K6ZB

We had a number of problems with Win-Test and MicroKeyer this weekend...I am
wondering if anyone else did too??
Others have reported similar problems in the past with the WKUSB devices,
whereas other versions work OK.
Which model of K1EL MicroKeyer? WKUSB? WKSerial? Or microHAM MK2R / MK2R+
or ?
WK USB
Which microkeyer chip? V21 or V22? Win-Test reports what it detects during
start-up.
V21
Which virtual COM port are you using? Any similarities or differences
between the software configuration of the computers that worked vs. those
that didn't, especially with respect to the virtual COM port number, or
presence or absence of other USB-to-Serial adapters?
COM 6 for the WKUSB (directly to a USB connector on my Dell Desktop). COM 1
(RS-232) is connected with an RS-232 cable to a PK-232 PakRat. That one used
to cause crashes of software when I used a USB to RS-232 connector, but with
COM 1, it's fine.
