Hi Larry and Olivier
thanks for all the suggestions.

SRI Larry for copying your call wrong I will lose 3 more contacts ...HI
I wrote mu second mail before reading your answer.
Here are some more details about our setup:

ANTIVIRUS o Real Time Analysis
Yes I forgot to tell you about Antivirus. I leaved NOD32 active in many PC
It seemed very light but when the problem start it was our first thought and
we disabled
NOD32 in all PCs. No changes happened.

PC and network is permanetly installed and dedicated.
No internet connection in Monte Capra so no Firewall or Spyware installed.
Only a simple Antivirus as NOD32 but I cal easily unistall it just to avoid
any permanent or silent use of the CPU.
Anyway I will take a look to the task manager to see if there is any active
process
using excessive CPU.
Next weekend I will repeat the CQWW setup with the complete log open and I
will
send SH/DX 5000. And see what it will happen and let you know.

NTFS recently defragmented with Windows 2000 pro SP4

Good to know this means I have only to find the problem in my network or PC
setup
and not to upgrade hardware.

REORDER QSOs by time

Thanks I will do this way.

Thanks for now I will let you know further progresses.

My callsign is F6FVY (N + 1) - Just kidding ;-)

No, except if you set filters on the DX cluster server it self, but it
is not "interactive" with WT, of course.

We currently use 5 x PII 300 MHz / 64 MB (!) at FY5KE and we do not
suffer any slowing down. And be sure we use WT at its full capabilities,
with all data updated as-we-type ;-)

This slowdown is totally abnormal with your current configuration,
especially if the sync was disabled !

Before going any further, please check that you don't have *any*
anti-virus of some sort installed and running on those computers.
Especially if they have some sort of "real-time analysis" which is
triggered everytime the OS does access to the file system. It
considerably slows down the disk access in our case, where several files
are simultaneously updated for every received spot.

Check also that you don't have any "automatic and silent" Windows update
engaged. That might impact the responsivness and file system access, for
low-end machines.

The easiest way is to merge your log with it self. Meaning that you hv
to use the merge function, with your log as master log, and your log
(again) as a second one. Wise users backup files before proceeding !
