Chris,

I have a similar setup but I'm driving the band decoder from FT-1000MP's
Band Data-connector. That way I have automatic band changes even without PC
running.

The way you have set your cable should work ok. You can also use ready-made
LPT cables from Rado-shack or similar.

You can find wiring setup diagram from Top Ten Devices website at
http://www.qth.com/topten/. Look under http://www.qth.com/topten/bd-yman.htm
for Yaesu setup. The setup you are using now is described at Figure 3a.

The one I'm using is described at Figure 2e.

I would check the LPT cable pin-out again. Also what Windows release are you
using? If Win 2000 or XP you need to use Port95nt.exe to access your LPT
port properly. You can find Port95nt.exe from
http://www.driverlinx.com/DownLoad/DlPortIO.htm.

In Win-Test you need to configure the LPT port usage under Options |
configure Interfaces... The look for Printer portsat the top right corner.
Tick the LPT and press Configure.. Under Configure tick Band Data
(2,7,8,9) -option. Click OK and you should be ready to rock-n-roll
automntically.
