Unfortunately, we can't manage such things reliably with Windows OS. 
Actually, you're a bit in luck it works the way you do it ;-)  I don't 
know what Windows version you're using, but be warned it could break 
with other or future versions of Windows.

The best way to use a paddle is to use an external keyer, and a Y cable 
between the computer CW output and this keyer.
