Don't you have a firewall or smth, which might silently block access to 
the LAN ? For example, with ZoneAlarm you must explicitely "grant" 
access everytime you update WT (because ZA detects the program has 
changed, even if it still has the same name and location). I guess the 
other firewalls of this nature use the same trick.
