[WT-support] Feature wish for Elecraft K3

Hallo,

the current versions of the Elecraft K3 firmware do not allow more than 
one audio input simultaneously, and some laptops (e.g. Apple PowerBook 
Pro with Boot Camp) do not have a bias for microphones on their "audio 
input jack" and/or only have a Line In input. In other words, you can 
not easily route the microphone audio through such a computer.

The K3 has three audio inputs chosen via internal menus. They are Mic 
Front, Mic Rear and Line In. Apart from this the menu functions can be 
controlled via RS-232

The suggestion was made on the Elecraft list that maybe the DVK could 
switch the K3 audio inputs on the fly:

You might be able to put in your rig program a macro to send a rig 
control command to switch audion to line in before it sends the dvk and 
switch it back afterwards, over the serial port.  Does your voice keyer 
support rig control rs232 macros?
