Hi,
Just tryied this, don't work here for TS850 CAT, anybody else use PTT over RTS shared with CAT ?
I mean that PTT via RTS is okay, but radio is not controled any more.
not really a problem as i can use DTR or LPT for PTT but if i could keep my interface in the standard...

The standard set on a ComPort is CW on DTR line and PTT on RTS line. On the same port you can share the control of the radio via RX-TX line, properly converted from RS232 level to the radio needed level.

Hi Geo,
DTR can provide PTT as well.

You don't need two ports George. I use a single serial port for rig
control *and* CW keying. You've also got PTT available if you want it.
