[WT-support] QTC receive

Thanks for all the responses!

It's my first WAE effort...didn't notice that QTC's were only one way exchanges.

I'm still curious however...Does the program look to see whether the registered callsign and/or locator grid is in or outside of Europe and bring ups either a QTC RX window or a QTC TX window?

And from an operating standpoint, if I send a station 3 entries in my first QTC, what is the typical echange for re-working a station a 2nd time.

If I call a guy a 2nd time in a "normal" contest I'll get a "Dupe!" or "K2TA B4".

de K2TA QRV? or perhaps de K2TA QTC 2/7 QRV?

Or should I sit out the first hour of the contest to listen and learn from the other guys?

  Hello Tom

Why the hell would you receive QTCs ?

Non EUs are just allowed to send QTCs while EUs just have to receive QTCs.

The only difference is the WAE RTTY where both may send AND receive QTCs.

  Enjoy the contest

I just purchased my first copy of Wintest to use in the WAE contest this weekend.

I played around and have it talking to my Elecraft K2 and keying it via the parallel port.

I entered a bunch of dummy callsigns and played with Cntrl-L and sent test QTC's.

But for the life of me I cannot figure how to enter received QTC's. Is there another keyboard shortcut for RX QTC? Do you have to be in a certain mode of the logging program for it to know you are receiving a QTC and then the Cntr-L behaves differently?

Nothing like last minute crash learning before a contest eh?

  Thanks!
