Welcome around here and glad that you too are enjoying the benefits 
of Win-Test (I am an op @ G6PZ) :)

Perhaps Laurent or Olivier could verify, but I am led to believe it 
is highlighted in red around the top of the hour (XX:00) to remind 
you to maybe check another band for an opening (e.g. 10m/160m etc). 
It will also be highlighted red around sunrise/sunset times to 
remind you of the greyline :)
