[WT-support] Icom / TenTec polling

Hi Olivier,
I justed tried to communicate with my TenTec radio again. Pretty much
the same results, the handshake and stopbit - settings doesn´t change
anything (except it isn´t working at all with some stopbit - settings).
I started your logger and compared it with the sniffer. Except for the
nicer formating of yours I couldn´t find any difference.
I had a look at the communication between WT and the the OMNI VI and
compared it to the IC-706 MKII (which works!).
I can find a difference when setting the frequency from the program:
The TenTec doesn´t answer correct, the 706 quits the command all right.
I marked those answers red in the log. Nevertheless it changed frequency.
Is this possibly a timing issue? Do you have a time - out implemented
which is maybe just a bit to fast for those elderly radios? The 751A is
well known for it´s slow interface.
On the web I found a eMail which was sent from TenTec Staff to a
customer who complained that his radio
didn´t work together with his favorite contest software. Here´s the
answer from TT:
"In the OMNI VI, "handshaking" is too slow for some control programs (I
guess they put it in quotes because
there is no real handshake....)
Solution: In the OMNI VI, important transceiver functions such as CW
keying and frequency switching takes
priority over the serial port communication and the radio does take some
time to certain commands... "
Well, I didn´t face a transceiver which stopped transmittinging CW
because it was polled yet and wasn´t aware
that generating CW is such a demanding task for a CPU running at several
MHz, but I guess they know what they´re saying.
Maybe the answers doesn´t come fast enough?
I also noticed that the change frequency command is always send twice.
Is this intentionally?
Sorry for this longish eMail, thanks for your great support!
Please let me know if I can be of any help testing further.
73s, Matthias
Here´s the logged communication:

B) This is the IC-706 MKII, just after WinTest has started. I didn´t put
the output of the com-port sniffer,
because it is exactly the same.
