Felipe,
Greetings from snowy Amissville, VA. I just got inside after snow blowing 19 inches of snow from our long driveway to the street and checked my email to see your forwarded note from Frank, W3LPL.

The problem of chopped characters that we had with my K3 was corrected by reducing the "TX DLY" parameter from the default 30 to a lower setting of 10. I you are using an amplifier with your K3, try using the highest number possible before the chopping occurs.

Hi Felipe,

I had this exact same problem with K1HTV's K3.

He changed a K3 parameter to fix it, but I don't remember which one!
The problem is documented on the Elecraft site, I'm sure you will find it.
It may also be corrected in a more current K3 firmware update.

I suspect it was one of the timing parameters.

Hi guys,

I am in Costa Rica and I am using a K3 with win-test and my notebook with WIN7 and when I increase speed over 34 36 WPM the CW starts to get messy, some of the caracheters I send are almost unreadable, like C is almost Y.

I changed Keyer, was using K1EL Winkey, then I tried CW via CAT cable, and then I have my own cable with a transistor and resistor and they all do the same.

I tried unpluging the CAT system while txing with my cable keyer and still the same.

I am using all USB TO RS232 converters that work well with my TS590.

I have changed into CW QRQ in K3 menu.

is there anything else I should look at?

thanks a million for help
