Dear Herve'<br>
thank you for your statement. <br>
In the program discription you write support of vhf contests so you
decided to go also this way.<br>
If you had written there NO support for VHF contest or only support
for HF contest than I never had bought the program.<br>
I run different programs and there it doesn't care much what report
I type in as it is only a input/output format.<br>
As some write they report bugs and some still waiting 5 years for a
update this is a kind of ignorance to the users who buy the
software.<br>
Sorry to say it in hard words but this is no service to customers.<br>

As part of the Win-Test crew, and VHFer (and up) contester myself,
I agree
<br>
that Win-Test does not give an answer to all the features that we
could need
<br>
or imagine.
<br>
<br>
BUT, Win-Test has never been designed for VHF contests. It is
basically an
<br>
HF contest logger, that has been "adapted" to VHF and up needs. We
have never
<br>
hidden it, and concentrated our efforts on developping the HF
requirements.
<br>
<br>
BTW, you may think it simple to add things like mixed mode QSOs or
"unusual"
<br>
reports, such as 59S (but also 59RS), 59A, and why not AS, ot F,
or ionoscatter, or
<br>
whatever new propagation mode could be used or discovered. But as
those unusual
<br>
mixed_mode/reports never appear in the HF contests, making them
"recognized" by
<br>
Win-Test requires a complete modification of the basic user
logging interface. This could
<br>
create side effects problems, which is against one goal of our
global policy : reliability !
<br>
<br>
Thus, I am afraid nothing will be done soon.

Hello Jan,
<br>
<br>
we (OK5Z) used the WT for for V/U/SHF/uW contest one time. Even
I like
<br>
this software for HF contesting, we refused to use the WT on
VHF.
<br>
<br>
There is absolutely no support and the will to improve the WT
for VHF and
<br>
up contesting.
<br>
I have reported the bugs, but still nothing. As you mentioned,
the problem
<br>
with the report, next the problem with the output to EDI format,
old VHF
<br>
database and more.
<br>
<br>
There is a lot of another free of charge SW for VHF and up.

<br>
<br>
after using Win-test on shortwave I wanted to give it a try on
VHF/UHF as
<br>
well where we used a different SW up to now. I stumbled upon
several
<br>
topics that I cannot find help for in the documentation, maybe
someone on
<br>
this list knows?
<br>
<br>
-WT rejects Aurora or Rain Scatter reports. Is there any way
to make this
<br>
work? Rain Scatter reports are mandatory for serious microwave
efforts
<br>
accounting for up to 80% of all qso's in a summer contest on
10ghz. and
<br>
even aurora may come back in a contest some day.
<br>
<br>
- in a mixed mode SO2R setup (e.g. Radio1 2m, Radio2 70cm), I
want to
<br>
work e.g. SSB on 2m and CW on 70cm. However when Radio 1 is in
SSB mode
<br>
and Radio2 is also, I cannot change Radio2 to CW mode. I first
need to
<br>
change radio1 to CW and then I can change it also for radio2.
When I do
<br>
that Win-test however changes also the band for radio2 so that
it is the
<br>
same band as radio1. I then can change the band for radio2 and
everything
<br>
is set up as I want it to be but this sounds like way to
complex in the
<br>
hectics of an actual contest.
