As usual, use your login / password to access the download area. This release fixes the Cabrillo file import function that was broken in 4.38.0 (see my previous post on this list). --------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.38.1 (Nov 1st, 2021) - Bugfix : After importing a Cabrillo file, the resulting wt4 file couldn't be opened by Win-Test 4.38.0. Tnx F5LIW. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Reminder : When installing a new release over an a previous version of Win-Test, you don't need to "uninstall" anything. Just run the installer of the new release. 73 Larry - F6FVY -- All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone. If you find nothing, send an email to Herv?,F5HRY", f5hry [ at ] wanadoo dot fr with your callsign and old email address and he can update to your new email address and provide your license number and the download password. You probably won't have to buy Win-Test unless you only purchased Win-Test Version 3, over 12 years ago, and never upgraded to Version 4. Here's the screen you saw, which tries to explain this. Hello from Germany, I?m Lenz, DL8RDL. As a member of "Bavarian Contest Club" I?m frequently active since many years in contests by using WinTest. *My feature-request/suggestion (let?s call it "auto-spot" for now) is:* - when turned on in S&P-mode (it should NEVER work in run-mode) WT sends a spot for each logged SSB-QSO automatically in the background as an equivalent to the hit on "Alt-F3" - it just works in ssb - it doesn?t work in other modes than SSB. There usually are much CW and RTTY-skimmers available in contests - "auto-spot" is always turned OFF by default and has to be switched on deliberately by the contester. - turning on the feature is NOT super-simple and not easy to see in the program or menu. Maybe "auto-spot" can only be activated by a new textcommand like "AUTOSPOTON"? This should avoid an accidently switched on "auto-spot"- feature because: if maybe somebody does "run" while WT works in S&P-mode or the user doesn?t take much care about computers and settings. - on the other hand: "auto-spot" IS easy to find and easy to switch on/off but it turns off if the user hits "CQ" (aka F1) *Why "auto-spot"?* I experienced this feature (or some kind of a feature like that) while working runs and small US-pileups in ssb-contests. From time to time I immediately was spotted by a station who worked me seconds before. In my opinion this gives a) better quality to ssb-spots and that?s good for every participant in the contest b) more activity for both sides: the caller and the taker which results in more fun for everybody. I?m not sure but I assume that e.g. N1MM has this feature - but I don?t know. I?m a WT-user and will go with it further on. So, how do you like this idea? Just to be clear, when you're talking about the "S&P mode", you mean it was set by the Ctrl-Tab action, right ? I think that using a text-command *only* is not desirable. There must be some sort of "indicator" to know if it's enabled or not, and a checkmark in the appropriate menu item line does this job. Also, I'm wondering if a small message (ex "FY5KE spotted") in the status line (under the log) would be useful as well. It would be a reminder that the feature is enabled, and inform the user on the sent spots. Finally, if a F1 hit disables the feature (assuming you're in S&P mode), what action would re-enables it ? 73 Larry - F6FVY -- All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone. N1MM+ has such a feature which I've never enabled because, on the rare occasion that I operate a phone contests, I consistently end up running some number of QSOs without correctly entering Run mode in the logger because I don't use F-keys to send voice memories in the logging program. I suspect lots of part-time and reluctant phone ops use a live mic only, or an external voicekeyer built into the radio. In that case, the logging program has no way of knowing when you enter Run mode because you never press F1. So you may end up unintentionally spotting your callers on your QRG. 73, Chris W4WF On Sat, Nov 6, 2021 at 8:35 AM Laurent HAAS - F6FVY wrote: > Hi Lenz > > Le 05/11/2021 ? 22:18, Lorenz Grassl a ?crit : > > > *My feature-request/suggestion (let?s call it "auto-spot" for now) is:* > > - when turned on in S&P-mode (it should NEVER work in run-mode) WT sends > > a spot for each logged SSB-QSO automatically in the background as an > > equivalent to the hit on "Alt-F3" > > > > - it just works in ssb > > > > - it doesn?t work in other modes than SSB. Another solution (less "automatic" but also safer) would be to use a (2 or 3 lines) Lua script to send an Alt-F3 key stroke when Return is pressed in S&P mode. So, the user has just to hit Enter once again to send the spot, or Esc to dismiss the DX spot dialog. And if the user forgot to switch back to the RUN mode, this dialog reminds him/her to do so. 73 Larry - F6FVY -- All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone. Background: With the high volume of spots of today, Op-entered spots are lost from the operator's view very quickly. With this option, they would be more meaningful again. b) Create a new color for "high value QSOs". In UKDXC Ukrainian stations are worth 10 points, while EU only counts 2 and DX 3 points. Strategically, you are looking for the low hanging fruits first. Wouldn't it be great if the high value QSOs would stand out in the Announce Window and in the Band Map? c) Create an additional sort option in the textual band map to sort the band map (list) by QSO value, with the high value QSOs on the top. Multipliers first, then high value QSOs, then low value, then zero value. Not sure if this is feasible but I think it would be helpful for my style of operating (much S&P). This applies to WinKeyers, but also to devices that embed a WinKey chip (MicroHAM MKx, etc.). I built a dev / nightly version (#859) with this fix, so it can be tested at larger scale, especially during the coming CQWW DX. As usual, keep the official version 4.38.1 as a fallback if something bad happens. Thanks again to Wolf and Ben for their dedication. 73 Larry - F6FVY -- All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone. I use an elder Version of WT which is V 4.27.0, radio is an IC-7700 connected to a Notebook Win 10 by using a Micro Keyer II, router V 9.0.4 The recorder worked properly during WAE SSB, did a good job in WAG and in Marconi-Contest (which I did by using a Kenwood TS-870). After returning to my standard rig IC-7700 I don?t manage to have a signal to be recorded. I used saved preset settings of my Icom and everything is working fine except the recorder. When starting it the LED ?line? of the MK II lights red as it should, but I miss the light of the yellow LED ?sc? showing that the sound-card of MK II is used and activated. MP3 in WT setting shows ?line microham codec?. All settings should be the same as they were used during WAE and WAG but anyway, I cannot record rx signals. Anybody out there who can tell me where to look or what to try to get the recorder back in service!? 73s Stefan, DJ8WK Gesendet von Mail f?r Windows 10 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Use PTT Lead to set TX DLY instead of R/T delay, which is quite poorly documented. 73, Bob, N6TV On Fri, Nov 26, 2021 at 7:31 AM Ricardo Navarrete wrote: > I don't know what were the problem but now it is fixed, I restored the > factory settings of MKII Router and delete all the .ini files > uninstalled WT and deleted all config files, everything is set from zero > and now it is running properly. > SOrry for disturbing... it was my fault! > Thnaks to everyone, thanks Laurent for your time! > > > Libre > de virus. www.avast.com > > <#m_2271188978905499565_DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2> > > El vie, 26 nov 2021 a las 13:23, Laurent HAAS - F6FVY () > escribi?: > >> Hi Rick >> >> Le 26/11/2021 ? 13:17, Ricardo Navarrete a ?crit : >> >> > The same issue... some skimmers spot me as TA4M.... >> > No luck... >> >> If the MKII correctly displays "EA4M" on its LCD display when you're >> spotted as TA4M, I'm afraid Win-Test has nothing to do with it :-( >> >> 73 >> >> Larry >> >> -- >> >> All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability >> to sit quietly in a room alone. >> >> Blaise Pascal, Pens?es >> _______________________________________________ >> Support mailing list >> support at win-test.com >> http://lists.f5mzn.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/support >> > > > -- > Ricardo Navarrete L?pez > ricardoea4zk at gmail.com > > Este env?o es confidencial y est? destinado ?nicamente a la persona a la > que ha sido enviado. Message-ID: I'm a bit confused on how to use the following setup : - Win-Test - TS850 via Microham serial converter - Perseus SDR - CW Skimmer Skimmer talks to Perseus. I could make the wtDXTelnet sessions work correctly, I do receive spots from both sources. But I'm searching how to keep the Perseus in track with the operating frequency. Do I have to use a third party software like OmniRig, or a serial port sharing ? For the moment, I do get errors : "Command ignored: "SKIMMER/QSY 7010.0" Thanks for any help, 73 Patrick TK5EP. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
