[WT-support] Runtime error

Thank you Bob and Bravo !
I renamed wt.ini in wt.ini.bak in this folder C:\ProgramData\Win-Test\cfg

It worked, then i reentered my credentials tried again and it still works.

Have you accidentally dragged anything in the Documents folder, like the Win-Test folder for log files, to a new location? 



I suggest renaming wt.ini, so it will create a new one with default values. You will have to re-enter your registration code. 


Have you tried double clicking on a wt4 file?

No error with wt.exe -n (from the wintest folder) i have the contest configuration tab, but it crashes as soon as i validate

Are you opening the .log file instead of the .wt4 file? Windows by default hides the last three letters of a file name. 


Do you get an error if you run wt -n (from Windows command prompt), then select File | New ? 



What is the exact error message that you see (screenshot is preferred).

Yes i am using the last win-test version. 
Installed it with admin rights (full version not the update) 

I tryed right click run as admin and with the tick box checked. no improvement, still error. 

I tried with command line wt loads but as soon as i choose a new contest log or or old log once informations are confirmed, runtime error is back. 

So, it goes a little further, but it's still the line of sight... 

Any thoughts ? (It should be late in CA !)

What version did you download and install? Try the full install, not the update. 


http://download.win-test.com/v4/bin/wt-4.33.0.exe 



Be sure to RIGHT CLICK and "Run as an Administrator" to run this install program. 




And, after running the installer, you must change the Properties of the Win-Test shortcut , under the Compatibility tab, to "Run as an administrator" 


Both steps are required. 


If you're getting an error opening a .wt4 file, open a new .wt4 file, or start the program with no log file loaded by using a command prompt: 






wt.exe -n

I cannot use anymore my Win-Test logger because of a runtime error. (header in the dialog box deals with Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library) 
I've seen there was already 2 related request on the same subject but i do not have Windows defender activated on my PC. 

I tried several times to reinstall with or without admin privileges, but no success. 

Running on Win 10 Pro 64 bits. All my other software are working 

Any clue anyone ? what information do you need to give a hand ? (i was looking for a log file, but...) 

The largest French contest of the World ;) is coming and i definitely want to be able to use WT !
