[WT-support] very unimportant question about window colors

I was trying to change N+1, but it seems to be the same on all of them. Let me try to be more exact:

If I right-click on the window, and select color, I get a window that gives me the parameter I want to change (background is the default) and a rectangular box that shows me the current color setting. If I click on that box, it opens a color picker, with 40 color options, plus a button for factory colors, and a button for more colors.

When I move the mouse over the various color choices, the N+1 window changes color to match the color I am hovering over. This is where things go bad – If I click on one of the colors, for example, red… what should happen is that the current color box should become red. The window is already red, because I am hovering over red. What actually happens is that it closes the color picker window, and the current color box stays blue, and the N+1 window switches from the hover color (in this case, red) to the color displayed in the current color box, which is the default, blue. If I select OK at that point, I am affirming blue, even though I selected red…. The current color box never changes to red.

Here is my workaround: I open the color picker box, and HOVER over the desired color… but rather than clicking on it to select that color, I hit <enter> on the keyboard, which successfully selects the color I was hovering over. I know this because the current color box changes to the color that I was hovering over. At that point, I can select OK, and the window color is changed.

It appears to me that when the color is selected in the color picker (by clicking), it does not change the color of the current color box… but hitting enter DOES make that change… and that allows me to make the color change by selecting OK.

Sorry Wigi, from your description, I can't tell what you were doing.

If I click on a color and click OK, it saves the color change. No need to hit Enter. What window were you trying to change?

I just tried a work-around, and it worked. What I did was hover over the color (in this case, red) but rather than clicking on the color in the color picker, I hit <enter> from the keyboard. When I do this, the color in the pulldown changes to the color I was hovering over. This allowed me to select that color by hitting or clicking on OK, without clicking on the color from the color picker.

I hope that makes sense...

Err...

Probably a very stupid question but do you hit "OK" in the Colors...
dialog ? If you close the dialog with the close icon (aka the cross on the top right), it won't save the color, as it's considered as a cancellation.
