When calling CQ, operating assisted, or multi-op, it's often very useful to
see where you are being spotted, especially on CW and RTTY with automated
Skimmers worldwide.
You may have noticed the red message "Spotted by ...." at the bottom of the
logging window, but it's just one line, and it usually disappears well
before you can make much use of it.
Also, when two stations are CQing on or near the same frequency without
hearing each other, or there is a busted spot, callsigns may quickly
disappear from the band map before you can figure out what's going on.
I've just published two new Win-Test Lua scripts to re-display this lost
information. They quickly search the DX Cluster log file
(logFileName.dxc). Matching spots are displayed in a pop-up window. These
scripts proved to be especially useful during the last CQ WW CW contest at
the K3LR M/M.
SearchSpotsByCall -
Searches for your own callsign by default, or any call or partial call
entered in the logging window. Run this script to discover all the people
or Skimmers that have spotted you or (any callsign) on the same band as the
active radio.
SearchSpotsByFreq -
Searches for any spots close to the current frequency of VFO A of the
active radio. Use this to rediscover spots that have "disappeared" from
the band map, especially when multiple stations are active and spotted on
the same frequency without realizing it.
For more information including installation instructions, download
SearchSpots.zip from http://bit.ly/wtscripts and open
Readme_SearchSpots.txt file included in the Zip file.
