Once you log C4HQ or ZF1A on a band, they will then be seen as dupes, so
they won't be counted as multipliers in the DXCluster or Bandmap windows
any more (on that band)

Apparently not. For spots originating from a cluster (as opposed to
entered by the operator), the "expected" multiplier (CARS) is determined
from the itu.dtb file, not from prior QSOs in the log. So if you log C4HQ
as CARS, and ZF1A is spotted, they will not show up as a multiplier. If
you log C4HQ as CARSC, a ZF1A spot should show up as multiplier (CARS).
Once you log them as CARSZ, they will both be dupes on that band going
forward, but will show up as multipliers on other bands.

If you haven't worked either station on a band, and both are spotted, both
ZF1A as CARS and C4HQ as CARS will be displayed as multipliers. As long as
you log that extra letter, the other will continue to show up as a
multiplier until you work them too.

I hope this makes sense.
