This would make me very unhappy...
When operating SO2R my sequence looks like:
F1 - CQ R1
Shift F4 - stops CQ, gives my call out on R2
If no body calling me on R1, I press F1, this sends Test LY9A on R1, at the same time I receiving number on R2.
If I hear caller on R1 and have number from 2nd radio copied, I press Shift-F2 and Enter imidiatelly.
This gives my number on R2 and logs R2 QSO, often having headphones focus on R1, letting me to copy callers callsign on R1.
In the case if station on 2nd radio is asking for Nr repeat (at the end of the contest, especially when numbers becomes more complicated and operators getting tired this happens very often, ca in 5 - 10 persents of 2nd radio QSOs) I just press again Shift-F2 and the right number is being repeated.
With Tonno's proposals using of 2nd radio would become very complicated.
It would be OK for me if new tricks would be implemented with possibility to choose between old and new options. If not - I vote to leave as it is now.

ONLY INCREMENT SERIAL NUMBER WHEN CALLSIGN FIELD IS EMPTY
That’s it. Let the station who has something on the callsign field keep the number. This way it can never happen that you log a different number from what is sent! If the QSO does not happen and you clear the callsign field the number gets immidiately synchronized again! Can someone point out when this solution would not work?
If only it would not require rewriting the whole code of the program! Does it??
