Bob, I've had my Ft5000's working fine with Win-Test for some months using this approach and the FT9000 rig option. The key thing is the CAT RTS disable !

F5VHJ (ex. WR6R) got his FTDX5000 to work once he threw away his Prolific USB-to-Serial converter and replaced it with one based on the FTDI chipset.

  Select radio type FTDX-9000.

Also check the FT-5000 menu settings:

  032 CAT RATE: 4800
033 CAT TIME OUT TIMER: 1000 ms? Not sure what would be best choice here
034 CAT RTS: Disable <<<< Very important, especially when using USB-to-Serial adapter
  035 CAT DATA IND: Enable

In particular you may need to set CAT RTS to DISABLE if you want to use the Win-Test default settings for an FTDX-9000 (4800, N, 8, 2, Always OFF, Always OFF).

Please let us know if this works and we'll update the Wiki page.

Anyone using Win-Test successfully for CAT control of an FTDX 5000? If so,
    would appreciate settings.

    Thanks
