[WT-support] R: WinKey for PTT in SSB ?

Actually the Win-test Ctrl-T command (tune) triggers PTT through the Winkey
in SSB as well.
Assuming we can live with the KEY line closed during SSB TX (which is the
case for me), that would actually be the solution. E.g. Win-Test to send
"Ctrl-T" during SSB DVK transmission.
In the meantime I'm triggering SSB PTT through a parallel port, but I have
to deal with 2 PTT lines, which I would prefer to avoid.

The winkey chip does have a command called "key immediate" which
could assert PTT during the DVK message if WT was programmed
for it.
That would probably work with most radios, but it would be better if it
supported a "PTT immediate" command, because some radios may do strange
things if the KEY line is closed while you are in SSB mode (e.g., the
Elecraft K3 allows CW to be sent in SSB mode via CONFIG:CW WGHT, then tap
[1] to set SSB + CW).
It would be nice to just use the Winkeyer's PTT for both modes.
It would be, but the WinKey doesn't really seem to be set up to support
that. It only supports "buffered" PTT ON and PTT OFF commands, and they
don't work at all unless you have CW PTT turned OFF via PINCFG, so it's not
trivial to make it work smoothly as you toggle between modes.
