[WT-support] PTT on LPT Port - MMTTY

Hello,
I have a SO2R setup here using a home-brew switch box loosely based on the
DxDoubler. In this setup, everything hangs on the LPT port - CW, PTT, Band data,
radio 1/radio 2, RX Focus, Stereo RX, Footswitch.
The transceivers are hooked in via a couple of Microham USB/serial adaptors.
The rotator controller takes up the one and only COM port,

When I had a play in SCC RTTY last weekend, I was unable to figure out a way to
have WT key the PTT.
I am not sure I have understood things correctly, but it seems that MMTTY has no
means of switching PTT via LPT port pin 16, and that WT does not bother with
switching PTT when MMTTY is running.

As I understand it, my options are:
Use a different dedicated com port for each radio to switch PTT - not my choice
because PTT is all cabled up via LPT pin 16, and besides, who has that many com
ports?
Use radio command in MMTTY to switch PTT - not my choice because then WT has no
comms with the radios (although it seems to work this way in Logger32, I think).
Use ComFSK.dll and tdlportio to fool MMTTY into switching PTT on the LPT port -
not my choice because it seems to use a random group of pins and not pin 16
(which seems to be the de-facto standard PTT pin in all logging software)
Use VOX to switch PTT - not my choice because I prefer to leave things cabled up
permanently, not keep unplugging microphones, therefore I use the PKT connector
on the rear panel - guess what, VOX doesn't work with that connector.

So, I have a fully set up SO2R station for CW and SSB, all nicely cabled up (by
my standards, anyway!), which I have to re-configure to run RTTY. Can that be
right?

I have a couple of questions you may be able to help me answer:
Is my understanding of things as outlined above correct?
How have you got around this problem?
Have I missed something?
Is it possible to have WT switch pin 16 on the LPT port during RTTY messages in
the same way as it does on CW and DVK messages?
How does it all work without fuss in Logger32? Is whatever happens there the
answer to my problem?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

John, G4DRS
