[WT-support] Problems with Windows 7 and MK2R+

First, I don't understand what "brum" means. Distortion or hum? RF
feedback?

There are several ways to use the MK2R+'s sound cards with Win-Test. You
can configure it as a Windows sound card and use the Win-Test "Internal
sound card DVK", or you can configure it as an external DVK controlled by
LPT pins or the microHAM control protocol. Which method are you using? Did
you try the other method?

If you record and play back a message using the Router's DVK tab, does it
sound any better?

Are you using an older, unmodified Elecraft K3? There are known RFI issues
with the front panel mic. jack on that radio, especially if you use a mic.
plug originally wired for a Kenwood.

So far all of the problems you have described sound like microHAM Router /
device driver / CODEC software issues, or maybe mic. plug issues, not
hardware problems with the laptops. You shouldn't be using the laptop's
sound card for anything if you have an MK2R+; the laptop hardware is
probably not the issue unless you have a bad USB hub or something.

You might also try disabling any AntiVirus "auto protect" features to see if
that is causing problems with USB I/O.
