Maybe you forgot to enable RUN/S&P switching?  If the clock window doesn't
display "RUN" or "S&P" on the right side, that's the problem.

Try the text command shortcut:  RUNSP [Enter].  Then Ctrl-Tab should switch
modes OK, and the clock display will be updated.

Also, make sure "Ignore S&P messages" isn't checked in the MSGS Options tab.
