[WT-support] MicroKeyer II hanging

Hi all,

I have worked many contest, all types - CW, SSB, Mixed, RTTY with
WinTest and MK2R or MKII. I used to have similar issues in the
beginning. As it turned out - it was all about RFI. Proper grounding,
shielded cables and ferrite rings on all loose ends was the answer.
Since last 1,5 years I never had this problem again. Last CW WPX was no
different - not a single glitch during all time.

I am running SO2R configuration with 2 FT2000 and 2 ACOM 2000 at my home
shack, and I also have field kit - FT857, ACOM 1010 and MKII, both
setups running very smoothly. In all cases I use W7 Ultimate x64 edition
on both my shack computer and notebook I use for field operation. No
issues detected - simply perfect. But only when you pay proper attention
to grounding and RFI isolation.

I also wanted to ask experiences of others on possible reasons for MKII
losing connection and not responding.

Several times this happened in WPX that the indicator in USB router
turned yellow and MK stopped functioning. Sometimes the display got
messed also, sometimes no change on display. Switching OFF/ON cured the
problem.

Is RF the only issue? I am not sure it was RF. I also saw the same issue
at VP6DX with MKII-s constantly.

Any ideas?
