Especially CI-V Transcieve is improtant parameter for Icom radios.
You should both check ci-v transceive settings in your 746pro
and win-test.
I guess that inside radio menu ci-v trans. is switch to off by default.
I would recommend you to set up ci-v trans. to on (both win-test and
radio) and set up the baud rate to 19200.
By using high speed and ci-v trans. polling your band map will run much
more smoothly.
I run this kind of configuration with ic781 and WT versions 3.2x to 3.27
and never had problems (pc is old P300 with 128Mb RAM and WIN98SE )
I don`t have expierience with WT 4.0 and win XP or Vista
