I've now managed to find a work-around to make AVG 9.0 anti-
virus work OK with Win-Test 4.2. The set-up is slightly different
to LA8AW's AVG 8.5 instructions, but very similar and works well on
my XP radio PC.

1. Open Start -> All Programs -> AVG 9.0 -> AVG User Interface
or just click on the icon in start programs menu to bring up the up
the user interface.

2. In AVG User Interface, select Tools -> Advanced settings from
the menu options at the top of the screen.

3. In Advanced AVG Settings, select Resident Shield, Excluded Files.

4. Click Add.

5. Select file C:\Program File\Win-test\wt.exe and click Open - then Add
and Apply.

6. Click OK.

That's it! AVG will no longer flag wt.exe with a Themida virus
infection.

Wintest has been given the Themida treatment to prevent software piracy,
which is entirely understandable. However, many virus writers also use
Themida, which is shareware, to prevent their virus programs from being
reverse engineered and more easily cracked.

AVG and the other six anti-virus programs are not really reporting false
positives. Themida exists in Win-Test 4.2, but not in this case as a
virus.
