Thanks to a thorough review by Lefty, K1TOL, a substantially updated version
of the VHF_USA.ZIP Database file has been posted to
http://download.win-test.com/databases/.

VHF_USA.ZIP contains a VHF.DTB Database consisting of the Callsigns and Grid
Squares of 11,759 callsigns located primarily in Canada, the Caribbean,
Mexico and the USA. A few calls from outside the western hemisphere also
appear.

This is a reduction from the previous 12,282 calls. The Database contains
information dating back to 2005 and there apparently have been quite a few
license / callsign upgrades since then. Many stations were in the Database
under both their old and new calls.

While originally developed for use with Win-Test, the Database is also
usable by the VHFLOG contest logging program. Upon request, the Database
can be provided as an Excel File Sorted by Callsign or Grid Square, a
Callsign Sorted Text File, or a Callsign Sorted Comma-Delimited file.

The VHF.DTB Database drives the "Exchange Guessing" feature of Win-Test. If
Exchange Guessing is Enabled and in Automatic Mode, when a callsign of a
station included in the Database is entered, its Grid Square will be
automatically retrieved.

Note that the Win-Test Database Download site also contains a VHF.ZIP
Database. The Database is composed primarily of European Calls. Which ever
Database you choose to use should be installed in your Win-Test Directory as
VHF.DTB.

THIS IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR CORRECTLY COPYING THE GRID SQUARE. THE
OPERATOR IS STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT THE GRID SQUARE LOGGED
MATCHES THE RECEIVED REPORT.
