Even I agree that WT is solid and rocky compared to other Contest software, the only main compliant that in the last months, probable due overload of the main business, the upgrades, the hints and suggestions are slowly accepted and added.

The only way to improve this software is to support the developers hoping that also them are interested in the suggestions, most of time they claim
stability and reilability as main excuse to don't add more feature, otherwise i think a lot of people should be very happy to be beta tester for any experimental version, so come on guys, fill ur request and they will add them, i know personally that guys, and they are commited to WT, but may be need a more beta tester group or more developers .... still wating for V4 from last summer ............

Please add other 25K QSO's from D4 .....

Wintest should come with a disclaimer saying it is done part
time, and that improvements are unlikely. It is presented as
    a professional high end software.

The fact is that improvements are very likely. Just read http://download.win-test.com/nightly/release.txt to see all improvements they've made to Win-Test within the last few months.

Obviously some enhancements are more difficult to implement that others. Some take a lot of time, some take a lot of design thought and prototyping, and others take a lot of testing on a lot of different radios. Some don't take much time at all, but could risk destabilizing the code, and that's the last thing we need.

I do think if the developers F5MZN and F6FVY no longer have enough time to work on the code, they should invite some new developers to join the team, or make it open source. I also think we as users could help them prioritize our needs through some sort of online poll listing all the outstanding feature requests.
