This was brought up for the WPX contests also. We had that
problem here using Wintest.

Ian,
I agree.
This would be a very usefull feature. Especially for IOTA.
Many times serials were stolen by the mult station when the
run station was in mid QSO.
This means correcting the serial originally issued!
On the mult station we just entered the call with serial 001
and logged it as soon as the station was identified or
replied.
The QSO was the edited for the correct serial.
This also causes mult QSOs times to be a bit out.
Not sure how easy it is to implement.
Will leave this to the software experts.

Any response to this request please?

Hi all,
Is there a good reason why serial number cannot be
reserved once the callsign has been entered and space
pressed? It is a real pain to have to log before working.
It would be *really* useful to reserve the serial once space
has been pressed (or at least have it as an option?).
