That'd be great Rick. This is really starting to make me want to take up another hobby.
I dont know if it is an interface cable issue or what. I am using the same cables I used with NA which are the ones that Len, K1NU makes.
I just finished connecting even a FT-990 with the same result. I guess my next test will be connecting up the 1000MPmkV since it is a complete serial cable and see if that makes a difference.
Give me a call Wednesday night if you still have my cell number. If not, just drop me an email direct.

Ok guys, I have done everything I can think of.
I know it is not the computer.....I have tried 4 of them with the same result.
There has got to be something I am missing but what is it?
Let me note that I am just using the latest demo version at this point just in an attempt to set up 7 stations and get them going before doing the total transition.
To recap:
Radio is an FT-1000D.
I can click on spots and the radio goes to that frequency.
I can type in a frequency and the radio goes to that frequency.
Everything works but the computer just does not seem to be accepting data that the radio is sending. It is acting as if it is a one-way line of communication.
Computer talks to the radio and the radio does what it is told but the computer will not do what the radio is telling it to do.

I just got a bunch of new computers and this is my first shot at getting the first one set up.
FT1000D set to default settings.
DTR/RTS both set to default always off.
I will have to look into that memory tune issue.
This is a REAL serial port and no microham controller.
This thing seems to poll a lot faster than it did with NA/CT. Even changing the settings from auto to the others seems to have no effect. This is not an issue as far as I am concerned but just thought I'd mention it.
I will look into the m-tune and get back to you.
Thanks for the hint.
Bob

Did you press the "FT1000D Default Settings Button"?
SETUP [Enter], [Configure ...], [FT1000 default settings].
DTR and RTS should then be set to the default: "Always off".
The "memory tune" feature of the radio must also be off.
Are you using a real serial port or a USB to serial adapter? Are you using a microHAM controller?

Can click on spots...radio goes.
Can click on vfo a or b....radio swaps.
Can enter freq and radio goes.
Will not track as I dial.
What did I miss?
