Hello Wally,

We (DF0HQ) have been running WinTest as well, on a mixture of WinXP,
Win2K, and Win98 machines, without the problems you mention.
There is still the occasional crash of some machines after the
CLEARLOGNOW (Remote-)Command, but as that command is not used _during_
the contest it didnt matter.

I have never seen a "simultaneous blinking white blank screen" on any,
let alone all, machines. It would be very interesting to learn what
happened here. Can you reproduce the exact time of this happening ?
Can you verify if this per chance coincides with some GAB message
someone might have sent, or some cluster spot ?
Do you have, per chance, a backup of the contest log shortly before the
problem happened, and if you activate your network, with this log, and
then re-enter the QSOs, can the problem be reproduced ?

What did you do for the problem to go away ?

73s,
Mario

Trust the computer industry to shorten "Year 2000" to Y2K. It was this kind
of thinking that caused the problem in the first place.
