According to K1TTT, there were more than 54000 spots this year during 
the CQWW SSB contest, with peaks over 1600 spots per hour.

With these numbers, I guess it is the biggest traffic generated on the 
network, after the log sync (especially when a fresh PC comes into the 
network !).
